Nurtured with care,
harvested with passion…

In order to produce this beautiful pinotage, grapes are harvested at phenolic ripeness, as smaller berries with excellent colour and flavour intensity, and then soaked for 7 days on skins in open fermenters at precisely 25°C. These grapes are also grown during low rainfall in the dry ripening season and are picked on warm dry days. Thereafter, the fermentation process continues as it is matured in 100% French oak barrels to contribute to its charming flavour.

It is with an unrivalled passion that our Stellenbosch 1679 Pinotage can be offered to our clients as a true award-winning wine. Produced from well-aged vines grown in predominately Tukulu and Dresden soils at the base of the shale, the vineyard is located on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, at the heart of the Cape Winelands, in South Africa.
